Membership Types
GenPro offers three membership options designed to meet the varying needs of General Practitioners across Aotearoa.
Comprehensive Membership
$0.50c/ESU per annum (+gst)
Offers full voting rights and all GenPro membership services, including advocacy on health issues, MECA (Multi-Employer Collective Agreement) negotiation and implementation, workforce advisory on Pay Equity and Pay Disparity, and PSAAP representation.
Comprehensive Members receive end-to-end support for union negotiations and post-settlement implementation for PHC (Primary Health Care) MECA.
Core Membership
$0.30c/ESU per annum (+gst)
Grants full voting rights and includes advocacy on all health-related issues, representation at PSAAP, and advisory support for Pay Equity and Pay Disparity initiatives.
Core Members are primarily General Practice Owners supported through GenPro’s collective representation.
MECA (Multi-Employer Collective Agreement) Representation
$0.30c/ESU per annum (+gst)
Provides employer representation in PHC (Primary Health Care) MECA pay bargaining and ongoing guidance on interpreting and implementing the MECA locally.
This subscription ensures comprehensive, professional support for employers throughout the bargaining process, regardless of settlement duration, for cost-effective planning.
Additional Notes
ESU (Enrolled Service User) refers to an enrolled patient.
Levies apply from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025.
In recognition of the current financial pressures practices are facing, a discounted membership rate applies for the current financial year:
16.66% off Core and MECA-only rates (30c to 25c per ESU) and 20% off Comprehensive rates (50c to 40c per ESU).
After-Hours clinics are levied at $0.08c per annual urgent care visit.
Payment options include invoicing or monthly direct debit.
