Richard Lowe

Dr Richard Lowe is a Fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners and co-owner at GP Central, a 100% GP-owned, high-needs practice in Mt Roskill, Auckland, caring for 14,500 patients. He holds a Clinical Diploma in Palliative Medicine and has a special interest in Palliative and Aged Care.


 

Richard takes a diligent, diplomatic and solution-focused approach to advocacy, bringing a fresh perspective on today’s challenges and a determination to see General Practice thriving in 10, 20 and 30 years’ time. He has served as a PHO Associate Clinical Director, represented the GP College on Health New Zealand’s Palliative Care Contracting & Funding Working Group, teaches GPEP1 registrars, and provides care at two local rest homes.


He believes that well-resourced General Practice delivers better care, closer to home, and is committed to helping secure the funding and conditions required for this. As a GenPro Board Member, Richard offers a strong voice for clinician-owners and a direct connection to the next generation of GPs - ensuring the sector remains sustainable, equitable and patient-centred for the decades ahead.
